HISTORY

1916

Ueshima Takenosuke begins domestic production of various testing machines.

1920

The first shopper tensile testing machine was successfully domestically produced.

1929

Incorporated as Ueshima Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Ueshima Seisakusho”).

1956

Received the Yellow Ribbon Medal for his contributions to the testing machine industry (Ueshima Takenosuke).

January 1971

Chikahiro Sato established Japan Applied Technology Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “JAT”) (capital: 2 million yen, Tachikawa City, Tokyo) and began designing, developing, manufacturing, and selling air pollution gas measuring devices, etc.

December 1978

The capital was increased to 10 million yen and moved to Kunitachi City (JAT).

September 1980

Manufacture and overseas sales of various gas analyzers (CO, CO2, THC) began (JAT).

February 1985

The capital was increased to 91 million yen (JAT).

April 1985

A new plant was completed (JAT).

1991/10

JAT made Ueshima Seisakusho a wholly owned subsidiary and took over the testing machine business.

January 1995

Drastic improvements to abrasion testing machines began. It will lead to the development of later FPS abrasion testers.

1995/4

A patent application was filed for a “hydraulic servo-type flexometer,” which reduced the burden on the measurer by automating tests, improved measurement efficiency, and further improved measurement accuracy (joint patent with Bridgestone Co., Ltd.). (Special opening 8-285753).

April 1997

The world's first fully automatic viscoelasticity analyzer was launched.

2001/12

Acquired ISO9001 (JAT, Ueshima Seisakusho).

October 2003

Full-scale entry into testing machines for rubber lines, such as vulcanization testers and Mooney viscometers.

March 2005

In line with business expansion, headquarters building No. 2 was acquired (JAT).

July 2009

Sanritsu Trading Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Sanritsu Tsusho”) became a wholly owned subsidiary (JAT).

November 2009

Succeeded in developing a new friction tester (later RTM friction tester).

2011/12

Acquired ISO14001 (JAT, Ueshima Seisakusho, Sanritsu Tsusho). In addition, Sanritsu Tsusho also obtained ISO9001.

April 2015

JAT merged with Ueshima Seisakusho and Sanritsu Trading, and the company name was changed to “Ueshima Seisakusho Co., Ltd.”

March 2016

We are celebrating our 100th anniversary.

June 2019

Junichi Eba was appointed as the representative director.
