Automatic Eriksen Testing Machine

Coating film strength is measured by gradually pressing a fixed metal plate sample with a (punch) steel ball, and the punch is moved at a constant speed with a motor rather than a conventional handwheel type. Main applications include evaluation of deep drawing processability of thin metal sheets, evaluation of adhesiveness of coating films to metal plates, and evaluation of adhesiveness of resins, rubbers, etc. coated on metal plates.

• Both the “fixed distance method,” which evaluates sample damage by making the amount of movement of the punch constant, and the “breaking distance method,” which moves the punch until the sample is destroyed and the amount of movement is used as a test value, can both be tested.
• The punch's travel distance is accurately measured by a rotary encoder in 1/100mm increments.
• In the fixed distance method, the return of the punch after pushing in is automated.
• Since the push is driven at a constant speed by the motor, there are no individual errors caused by the measurer, and fatigue during the test is reduced.
